Structural Engineering

It is a two-year post-graduate program in Civil engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering (SE) to give training to students in both advanced areas in core courses and specialized topics in emerging technologies. Courses offered include excel in various educational programs or to succeed in industry / technical profession through further education/training, solid foundation in mathematical, scientific fundamentals required to solve Structural problems; scientific knowledge to comprehend, analyze, design & create novel products and solutions for real-life problems; professional/ethical attitude, effective teamwork skills, multidisciplinary approach and to relate engineering issues to a broader context and many elective subjects to give the students enough choice for specialization like Retrofitting of Structures, Design of Bridges, Numerical Methods, Approximate Analysis of Structural Systems, Advanced Pre-stressed Concrete, Design of Masonry Structures, Assessment of Structural Loading, Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structures, Structural Health Monitoring, Design of Tall Buildings, Earthquake Engineering & Design of Earthquake Resistant Structures and Structural Auditsetc. The project work in the final year is intended to equip the students to go deeper into his/area of specialization.
